Five O'Clock Somewhere

Welcome to Five O'Clock Somewhere, where it doesn't matter what time zone you're in; it's five o'clock somewhere. We'll look at rural life, especially as it happens in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, cats, sailing (particularly Etchells racing yachts), and bits of grammar and Victorian poetry.

Photos from the past week

There's lots to catch up on.Tadpole staples carpet onto the keel guides.
Dumbledore works on the final extensions to the aft support pads.
The new trailer is ready for the final additions. It's a lot prettier than the one Black Magic arrived on -- no pole-vault poles or duct tape.
Rocky the parrot auditions for "Pirates of the White Sands." Her best line is "Hurry up!"
The forward ladders on the trailer.
The middle and aft pads.
Sanding the patching material on the keel.
Painting the uprights and bracing.
All the shiny new paint on the trailer. We'll do the rest of the trailer later.

Black Magic is now in the water and ready for someone to take her sailing. Of course, there were a few things that didn't quite work or need fixing, but that will happen in due time.
