Five O'Clock Somewhere

Welcome to Five O'Clock Somewhere, where it doesn't matter what time zone you're in; it's five o'clock somewhere. We'll look at rural life, especially as it happens in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, cats, sailing (particularly Etchells racing yachts), and bits of grammar and Victorian poetry.

Another take on weather forecasting

Who’s right this time?

For the past few months, Pat has been looking at several on-line weather forecasts and trying to reconcile them – can they be averaged to get an idea of what the weather will do? Or are some more accurate than others? Two weeks in a row, the weather forecasts have proved wrong, first contradicting each other and predicting higher winds than actually happened (Zorro was more accurate that time), and then predicting winds that were much less than what actually happened (Zorro didn’t call that one quite so well and ended up getting dismasted).

Well, here is a website where God gets involved (or at least some people claiming to speak for Him) … http://propercourse.blogspot.com/2006/04/weather-forecast-for-sunday.html

Enjoy!
